What’s in store at Nordstrom Rack
Have you been to the new Nordstrom Rack at Beverly Connection yet? I finally made it over there last weekend — sad, because it’s so close to my place — and took some notes so you’ll know what to expect. (Blackburn and Sweetzer was, of course, on top of things at the grand opening and offered an early look at what the store has to offer.) This could be a good place to find a holiday party dress or gift, though right now the store is still stocking a lot of left over warm-weather clothes. But this is Los Angeles, where we can and do wear out-of-season clothes all the time — because we can, practically and stylistically — so get your discounted-designer-goods shopping on!
There’s all kinds of stuff here, including Coach sunglasses; Redken and Perricone MD ($29.97 for moisturizer) beauty products; Smashbox, Stila and Two Faced ($5.97 for lip gloss) cosmetics; and Betsy Johnson leg wear.
There’s also Michael Kors ($198.97 for that magenta/purple-y shoulder bag below) and Kate Spade ($119.97) handbags, as well as Lodis (a personal fave!) wallets ($42.97).
Here’s a Catherine Malandrino dress, which started at $495 and was marked down to $194, then marked down again to $159.97.
I also saw a Nicole Miller for $99.97, a Sue Wong for $119.97 and a full-length Tadashi for $149.97. There were also dresses by Alice + Olivia and Tory Burch here.
Not something I’d wear, but this Vince jump suit features those balloon-like pants that are in right now. It’s $139.97.
This BCBG Max Azria jacket is $89.97.
I also saw James Perse (T-shirts for $19.97), Ella Moss, Nanette Lepore, Theory, Trina Turk, L.A.M.B., Ed Hardy (of course, since it’s everywhere!), Juicy Couture and William Rast. There’s also a ton of denim, including William Rast skinny jeans for $89.97, Rock & Republic for $129.97, Hudson for $99.97, Joe’s for $79.97, and Rich & Skinny for $69.97.
I didn’t linger in the men’s section, but I did see Thomas Dean shirts and ties, Joseph Abboud (shirt for $29.97) and Penguin ($39.97 for short- and long-sleeve shirts).
Ok, now you want to see some shoes, huh? These Steve Madden boots and Coach sandals were both $99.90 each.
There was a wide range in the shoe department, from Vans sneakers to these Jimmy Choo flats ($199.90), which I can’t decide are funky or hideous. Or hideously funky.
The store, though small for a typical Nordstrom Rack (I even overheard someone say the new Pasadena location is bigger), is laid out to make sense — Nanette Lapore next to Tory Burch, Ed Hardy next to Juicy Couture. My shopping companion pointed out that the store lacked a petites section, but she did find this:
And much to our shared horror, we found these:
