Sushi and Zelmo

This is the inaugural post for ShopEatSleep: Pet Edition. I’m going to be doing my best to feature news on pet products, pet-friendly hotels, pet stores, pet food…You get the picture. I’m the proud owner of two adorable pugs, Sushi and Zelmo (that’s Sushi in the samurai hat on my About page), and I’m sure many of you have your own pet buddies (or babies, whatever you prefer) you like to shop for and travel with and whatnot.

That said, this is my review of Bamboo’s disposable waste bag dispenser. It’s the kind of poop bag holder that clips onto a dog’s leash or your belt loop. Bamboo’s come in a stylish white with either pink, blue or green bags de-odorized with Arm & Hammer baking soda and scented lavender — a very nice touch. And the bags are much bigger (longer) than the Bags on Board brand bags, which would be good if you have a big dog.

I have a couple of problems with Bamboo’s dispenser, though. It’s not as sturdy as Bags on Board’s bone-shaped dispenser. (Bamboo’s got scraped up pretty quickly compared to the Bags on Board one I had before, but that’s because I hook those dispensers onto my dogs’ leashes and drop the leashes when I get back home from walks, and my dogs drag them through the house. That’s probably not the preferred usage.) The bags were also hard to get out of the dispenser at times; the mechanism wouldn’t always turn.

Also, Bamboo’s bags aren’t biodegradable, but the company says it’s working on it.
