Georgio’s Cucina: From New York chef Gary Robins and Chris Heyman, restaurateur behind Table 8 and 8 oz. Burger Bar, comes a Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner at this new Studio City restaurant. The 7-course prix fixe ($65 per person, with a $45 wine pairing supplement; $15 children’s menu also available) will feature oysters on the half shell with prosecco gelée and black caviar, giant shrimp, big eye tuna, clams with pancetta, lobster risotto, roasted branzino and a selection of desserts.

Eva Restaurant: For a family-style dinner, hit up Eva’s prix fixe ($39 per person) on Christmas Eve to enjoy a prime rib roast, roasted organic chicken, creamed spinach, butterscotch pudding and more. Given the high quality of the food here, this meal looks like one of the best deals out there!

Gladstones Malibu: Looking for somewhere to nosh during the day? This SBE takeover is offering a Christmas Eve Dungeness crab feast ($70 per person; $30 for children 12 and younger) from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. You’ll also get Caesar salad, boiled new potatoes, steamed corn, asparagus and eggnog golden raisin brioche bread pudding. There’s fun for the whole family, too — new hopscotch courses and a sandbox, as well as a coloring contest for a chance to win special holiday treats.

Whist at Viceroy Hotel: Can’t decide which day to eat out? No worries because Whist is offering its Christmas menu ($75 per person) on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. You’ll start out with a smoked sturgeon salad with the option to add on foie gras torchon or raw oysters, and for the main course, choose two whole roasted meats, including a pork rack, organic turkey, prime rib and wild European turbot. There will be all kinds of sides, too, including black truffle, chestnut and pancetta risotto, and ricotta and spinach lasagna, in addition to a variety of desserts — even roasted chestnuts in a brown paper bag to go.

Oliverio at Avalon Hotel: Chef Mirko Paderno (a bit of a character, if you’ve ever met him) will be serving up some of his family’s Italian traditions on Christmas Day this year ($48 per person). These include marinated salmon in pink peppercorns with a citrus salad, a cauliflower soufflé topped with parmesan sauce, tonnarelli pasta made with crabmeat broth, and veal cheese and truffle fondue ravioli. Choose from either the roasted Mediterranean sea bass (AKA branzino) with cabbage and porcini mushrooms or the baked chicken served with artichoke and potato. Enjoy a cranberry parfait drizzled with dark chocolate sauce for dessert.

It’s the day before Thanksgiving. You don’t have plans, but you want to have plans. What to do? Check out the holiday dinners from these L.A. restaurants, and take your pick.

Akasha: This Culver City eatery is offering a $55 per person, three-course meal ($30 for kids 12 and younger), including a pie buffet for dessert. All dessert courses should be buffets! But I digress.

Starter options include winter squash soup, a salad with persimmon, pomegranate and goat cheese and an assortment of biscuits. Entrees include slow-roasted turkey, pomegranate-jalapeno jelly glazed ham, and wild peppercorn and sage-roasted tofu. The pie buffet includes class pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie with candied pecans, spiced pumpkin cheesecake with gingersnap crust, and pear and cranberry tart with cinnamon crumble. There’s much more; take a look at the Web site for the menu.

Joe’s Restaurant: This veritable Venice Beach institution is serving up a $52 per person, four-course meal ($20 for the kiddos). You’ll start with sunchoke soup, then move on to your choice of a greens and squash salad, Swiss chard ravioli, sweetbreads, mussels, or diver scallops. Main dish options include turkey with all the fixings, lamb with a pumpkin risotto, monk fish and shrimp, or vegetables with quinoa. The dessert course includes your choice of pumpkin pie, persimmon and pomegranate bread pudding, apple pie, or chocolate marquise.

Campanile: Mark Peel’s Mid-City mainstay has a $65 per person, five-course meal ($39 for kids) on the menu. You really can’t go wrong at Campanile. To start, there’s a mushroom barley soup. Then it’s on to your choice of a bibb lettuce salad, chicken liver crostini, or warm roasted vegetable salad. Then comes turkey for your main and another course of savory bread pudding, sweet corn succotash, mashed potatoes, cranberry chutney, and Blue Lake beans. Last is a dessert of either pumpkin ice cream, spiced apple bundle, or mixed nut tart.

If none of those hit the spot, also check The Rundown‘s list of Thanksgiving dinners, including Anisette, Henry’s Hat, Jar, The Langham and Whist.

Feeling frazzled already, and it’s only Tuesday? If you’re looking to take a load off after work or just like to enjoy a drink on a weeknight (because who doesn’t, really?), there are specials aside from a normal happy hour that you can partake in.

If you’re in downtown Los Angeles, you can head over to The Association for its Twitter Tuesdays special, which I recently told you about. And if you’re clear on the other side of town, try out Viceroy Santa Monica’s Taste of Tuesday, which I’ve also mentioned before.

But there’s more!

The Westside Pavilion mall in West Los Angeles has a $20 Tuesdays event every week. For $20, you can get a Landmark Theater movie ticket, a glass of wine and an appetizer. And there are $20 deals at select retailers throughout the mall. But hurry; the deals are done at the end of August.

There’s also an evening-into-night happy hour at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. Tapas Tuesdays in the lobby lounge features live music, and $7 tapas and wines from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. And with a view of the ocean, how can you go wrong?

Know of more Tuesday goings-on? Let us know if the comments.

Update: Just saw another Tuesday deal, this time from Daily Grill. Say “Twitter” to your server after 4:00 p.m. on Twitter Tuesdays and receive 20 percent off your dinner check.

And in more Kor Hotels news, Viceroy Santa Monica recently announced summer specials (on food and beverage, not room rates):

Starting Friday, May 22, and lasting through Aug. 28, the Cameo Bar is starting a “Summer Fridays” happy hour. Prices increase by $1 every hour until the 5:00 p.m. hour, where the drink pricing fun ends at $5. There’s also a new bar menu, with prices ranging from $2 (fried chicken and biscuit slider) to $15 (half dozen oysters). For those with more cash, poolside cabana rentals are $100 plus a two bottle minimum – and bottle service is half price.

Starting Tuesday, June 2, through Labor Day (Sept. 7), poolside cocktails and food items will be $5 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. for the hotel’s “Taste of Tuesday” happy hour. Offerings will include ceviche and BBQ chipotle shrimp, as well as farmers market-ingredient cocktails and sangrias, carafes of which will be $15. Five-item platters will cost $20, and valet parking will be $5 for one hour or $8 for the whole night.

Moderated by Eden Algie, Macallan brand ambassador, and held in a kick-ass cabana, other bloggers and I sipped on Macallan in neat and cocktail form. I learned more about scotch than I ever thought I would. There’s fine (light-colored) and sherry (dark-colored) oak-matured scotch, which is a single-malt whiskey (the Scots spell it “whisky”) made from barley. American whiskey is really bourbon made from rye.

We started off with a Maple martini from the Viceroy’s menu. It’s made with Macallan 10 (aged 10 years), maple syrup, ginger ale and bitters. I was expecting it to be sickeningly sweet, but it wasn’t. Then we moved on to Macallan 10 and Macallan 18 prepared neat, which basically means they were poured straight without any mixer. I found the scotch to be stronger than expected, but that’s probably just because I’m used to drinking Jack and Gingers (not very refined, I know). After adding a splash of water to the Macallan 10, I liked it better because the water breaks the surface and allows more of the flavors to come out. But the one I actually finished was the Macallan 18, which is is heavier. Go figure.

Macallan isn’t cheap. Macallan 10 retails for about $40 a bottle, and the 18 retails for about $150. We were allowed to look at, but not drink, a Lalique bottle filled with Macallan 55, which costs $16,000 (or $2,000 per shot). The company is releasing a Macallan 57 in a Lalique bottle later this year. Too rich for my blood, but I’m sure it’s tasty.

A special thanks to e*starla for helping to set up the tasting!

[UPDATE: A previous version of this post stated that a bottle of Macallan 10 retails for $30. It actually costs $39.99.]
